About the Role:

We’re looking for a Commercial Executive to join our East Lancashire office, working directly with the Partner who is the Head of Insolvency and Commercial Litigation on the team’s most high value, complex and high profile matters. This is a hybrid role, ideal for someone who thrives on variety and wants to build a career in two of the most diverse and challenging areas of law there is.

Administrative work:

Tasks will include forward‑planning diaries, drafting briefing packs, action tracking and follow‑through so the department runs efficiently. Travel and event management, marketing support and compliance including conflict checking, KYC engagement, drafting of engagement letters and dealing day to day with clients in person, over the telephone and by email. 

Fee-earning work:

Dealing with pre-action correspondence and strategy, protocol letters, devising case chronologies and summaries, dealing with pleadings, initial disclosure and Court filings, drafting interlocutory applications, consent orders and other case management orders, preparing for and attending CCMCs, cost budgeting, expert instructions and review, disclosure, document review, ADR and trial prep. You will be exposed to the full spectrum of work that is involved in litigating matters particularly in the Business & Property Courts. 

What You'll Be Working On:

Commercial Litigation

You’ll be involved in disputes between businesses and individuals, including:

  • Contractual Disputes
  • Debt Recovery & Enforcement
  • Shareholder & Partnership Disputes
  • Professional Negligence
  • Intellectual Property Disputes
  • Urgent Relief
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution 

Insolvency

You’ll support cases involving both corporate and personal insolvency, such as:

  • Corporate Insolvency
  • Antecedent Transaction Claims
  • Director Liability
  • Personal Insolvency
  • Asset Recovery
  • Court Applications 

This area often demands swift action and a strong grasp of financial and legal strategy. You’ll help prepare documents, liaise with insolvency practitioners, and manage urgent communications.
